Nilan SahaMarch 11, 2024
You might have seen that when you send a message to someone on LinkedIn there is a check mark next to it and the check mark changes over time. This is because LinkedIn shows status updates on the delivery and reading of your message in the form of different check marks.
Understanding the differences between check marks
Gray Check Mark
If a gray check mark appears next to the message you sent, it means the message has been successfully sent to LinkedIn's servers. It however doesn't mean that the message has been delivered to the recipient. Its basically on its way to the recipient.
Blue Check Mark
If a blue check mark appears next to the message you sent, it means the message has been successfully delivered to the recipient.
Double Blue Check Mark
If a double blue check mark appears next to the message you sent, it means the message has been successfully delivered to the recipient and that the recipient has read your message.
Conclusions
Check marks are important because they help in efficient communication and provide more clarity to users on the status of the message. Users can a full life cycle view of when their messages have sent, delivered and read.
